But then, you remember that it's not really hilarious. It's just plain bad. And the laughter you were experiencing morphs into a groan.

Ultimately, you are left with a sense of confusion. You start ruminating about the meaning of it all. Was this intended to be funny?

Or were we just all part of a grand, cosmic prank?

Worst Day Ever

It all started with my case of terrible hair. I couldn't make it to look presentable. As I was hurrying out the door, I fell and badly all over the floor. To make matters worse, I was completely running behind for work.

A series/chain/cascade of unfortunate/awful/disastrous events unfolded/occurred/piled on top each other, leaving me feeling like I was in a nightmare/horror movie/comedy of errors. It's the kind of situation where you just want to scream into a pillow.
